Our Mission at Urban Healing

 


At Urban Healing, we are devoted to sourcing and providing only the highest quality ceremonial-grade products, with each batch coming directly from indigenous tribes of the Amazon in Brazil. Our commitment extends far beyond simple procurement: we work in direct relationship with the families, artisans and medicine keepers who prepare these blends, and we ensure that they are fairly and adequately compensated for their work. This reflects our deep respect for their ancestral knowledge and supports the continuity of their cultural heritage.


Each batch is meticulously formulated following traditional methods and the profound wisdom of the sacred dieta. We honour the pace and ritual that these medicines require, so that every product carries the right energy for a grounded, transformative spiritual experience.


In our pursuit of environmental stewardship, we use simple paper zip bags for packaging. This conscious choice helps us reduce plastic and unnecessary waste, and keeps our focus where it belongs: on quality, freshness and integrity, not on over-branding. Our belief in mindful resource use guides not only our business decisions, but also our personal lives – cultivating a more sustainable and respectful relationship with nature and with the communities we work alongside.

 

 

 

Walking in Relationship With the Forest and Its Peoples

 


Urban Healing exists because of the trust and generosity of the indigenous peoples who share their medicines with us. We see ourselves as bridges: connecting urban seekers with ancient forest lineages, while doing everything we can to protect and support those lineages in return.


At the moment, our Rapé blends come from a number of different tribes and ethnic groups of the Brazilian Amazon. Each carries its own history, songs, cosmology and way of working with the forest. Below you’ll find a brief introduction to some of the peoples behind our medicines.

 

 

 

Nukini

 


Many of our Rapé blends are made by the Nukini people, a relatively small indigenous group living in the state of Acre, in the western Brazilian Amazon. The Nukini are known for their intimate relationship with the forest and their deep knowledge of medicinal plants, often carried and transmitted through strong feminine lineages—mothers, grandmothers, and daughters who keep the remedies alive.


Their Rapé preparations are often described as refined, clear and energetically precise, reflecting both the strength and sensitivity of the forest around them. When you work with Nukini blends, you are connecting to a people who have transformed generations of lived experience with the plants into subtle yet powerful medicine.

 

 

 

Yawanawá

 


Our Tsunu Yawanawá Rapé comes from the Yawanawá people, who also live in Acre along the Gregório and other rivers. For the Yawanawá, Rapé (often called Rume in their language) plays a central role in ritual life and spiritual training. It is used for cleansing, grounding, prayer and for aligning the mind with the teachings of the forest. 


Yawanawá blends often carry a strong sense of discipline and clarity. Tsunu, one of their classic ashes, is associated with peace, balance and a focused, awake state of mind. Working with Yawanawá Rapé means stepping into a living tradition where music, prayer and plant medicine form a single pathway of learning.

 

 

 

Huni Kuin (Kaxinawá)

 


Some of our blends, such as our Cumaru Rapé, are prepared in the lineage of the Huni Kuin, also known as the Kaxinawá. They are one of the largest tribes in Acre and refer to themselves as “the true people”. Their culture is rich in visionary art, sacred songs and an elaborate understanding of forest medicines. Rapé is central in their ceremonies and everyday spiritual practice, used to cleanse the mind, strengthen the body and support concentration. 


Huni Kuin Rapé is often described as strong, earthy and deeply grounding, helping to reconnect the user with the body, the earth and the larger web of life. Through these blends, you connect with a people whose identity is inseparable from the forest and its spirits.

 

 

 

Apurinã

 


Our Apurinã Awiry Rapé comes from the Apurinã people, who live along the Purus River and its tributaries. Their green Awiry Rapé is quite unique: traditionally made from the leaves of the Awiry plant, it can be prepared with little or no tobacco and ash, giving it a subtle, plant-forward character. 


For the Apurinã, this snuff is more than just a preparation – it is a way to connect with the surrounding forest, with the spirits of the plants and with a more delicate level of perception. Apurinã blends are often considered gentle yet precise, ideal for those who seek a refined, quiet approach to ceremonial work.

 

 

 

Yanomami

 


Some of our Rapé, such as our Paricá and Pau Pereira blends, come from traditions carried by Yanomami communities, one of the most well-known indigenous peoples of the Amazon. Living in remote forest regions on both the Brazilian and Venezuelan side of the border, the Yanomami have a long history of working with powerful visionary and cleansing plants, including snuffs made from seeds and barks such as Paricá and Pau Pereira. 


In their ceremonial context, these snuffs are associated with deep spiritual journeys, communication with ancestral beings and profound energetic clearing. Because of their strength and depth, these preparations are traditionally treated with great respect and used within a clear ritual framework.

Unsere Rapé-Mischungen stammen derzeit von mehreren verschiedenen Stämmen und ethnischen Gruppen des brasilianischen Amazonas. Jeder Stamm trägt seine eigene Geschichte, Kosmologie, Energie und Pflanzenmedizin. Hier eine kurze Einführung:

 

 

 

Nukini

 


Ein großer Teil unserer Rapé-Medizinen wird vom Nukini-Volk aus dem Bundesstaat Acre hergestellt. Die Nukini sind bekannt für ihre tiefe Pflanzenkenntnis, die oft über starke weibliche Linien weitergegeben wird.


Ihre Rapé-Mischungen sind meist klar, sanft, präzise und energetisch fein abgestimmt — perfekt für Meditation, Herzöffnung und feinere innere Prozesse.

 

 

 

Yawanawá

 


Unser Tsunu Yawanawá Rapé stammt aus der Tradition der Yawanawá, die entlang des Rio Gregório in Acre leben. Für sie ist Rapé (Rume) ein zentrales Werkzeug für Gebet, Reinigung, Fokussierung und spirituelle Ausrichtung.


Tsunu ist eine ihrer klassischen und heiligen Aschen und steht für Frieden, innere Balance und Klarheit.

 

 

 

Huni Kuin (Kaxinawá)

 


Die Huni Kuin, auch Kaxinawá genannt, sind eines der größten indigenen Völker Acre. Sie bezeichnen sich selbst als „das wahre Volk“. Ihre Kultur ist reich an visueller Kunst, heiligen Liedern (Ikaris) und tiefem Pflanzenwissen.


Ihre Rapé-Mischungen werden oft als erdend, kraftvoll und reinigend beschrieben – ein Werkzeug, um sich wieder mit dem Körper und der Erde zu verbinden.

 

 

 

Apurinã

 


Das Apurinã Awiry Rapé ist besonders einzigartig. Es wird häufig mit wenig oder gar keinem Tabak hergestellt, oft aus den Blättern der Awiry-Pflanze.


Es gilt als sanfte, klare und feine Medizin, perfekt für Menschen, die empfindlicher sind oder eine subtilere Verbindung zur Pflanzenwelt suchen.

 

 

 

Yanomami

 


Einige unserer Rapés wie Paricá oder Pau Pereira stammen aus den Traditionen der Yanomami, einem der bekanntesten und spirituell tiefsten Waldvölker.


Diese Rapé-Arten sind oft visionar, kraftvoll und stark reinigend, und sie werden traditionell genutzt, um mit Ahnen, Waldgeistern und innerem Wissen in Kontakt zu treten.
